Chapter 9d - The Personality of God

Christ Creates Worlds Without Numbers

This isn’t just about creation.

This is about who Christ is.

Did He create one world…
or countless worlds?

‍Chapter 9d - The Personality of God - Did Christ Create Worlds Without Number?

Are we alone?

Welcome to the Mormon Mann YouTube channel. I am Kendall, the Mormon Mann.

In this playlist “Joseph Smith and the Bible,” I am challenging over 80 of Joseph Smith’s teachings, and I am doing it using only the Bible.

In this Chapter 9 – The Personality of God, we are breaking down our Heavenly Father’s personality into five areas.

In order to facilitate the study of these topics, I will make five different short videos where you will be able to pick and choose which topics that you would like to watch. These five topics are:

1.     Does God Have a Body of Flesh & Bones? (Ch 9a)

2.     Are God and Jesus Christ one God, or are they two separate Gods? (Ch 9b)

3.     Can Man See God? (Ch 9c)

4.     Did Christ Create Worlds Without Number? (Ch 9d)

5.     Is Jesus Christ Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament?  (Ch 9e)

Introduction to This Chapter

In this video, Chapter 9b, I will be challenging Joseph Smith’s teaching that it was actually Jesus Christ who created this earth and He also created “worlds without numbers!”

Many Christians interpret that God the Father and Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are all one.  Therefore, they attribute the following roles collectively:

  • The creators of the earth and heaven.

  • The God of the Old Testament.

  • The saviours of all mankind.

  • The judges of all mankind.

However, from the personal teachings of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith learned that:

  • Christ created this earth.

  • Christ was the God of the Old Testament.

  • Christ is the saviour of all mankind.

  • Christ is to be our judge.

Joseph Smith really went out on a limb when he taught these supposed eternal truths…but they created four more contradictions in the Bible. These teachings were contrary to the basic Christian beliefs at the time and even now.

Through what we, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe, modern day revelation has shed a lot of light on these contradictions. Let’s see what kind of Biblical support that Joseph Smith has.

Christ as Creator — The Gospel of John

The first teaching is where Christ created this earth. One of the strongest scriptural passages that shows that Christ is the creator of this world is in John.

John 1:1-3,

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2.  The same was in the beginning with God.

3.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John teaches four important principles that we have discussed in this chapter.  These are:

  1. Word was with God.

  2. The Word was God.

  3. The Word was in the beginning with God.

  4. All things were made by Him.

An important factor in this passage is that the Word spoken of by John was actually Jesus Christ.  In order to understand this passage better, replace the “the Word” with “Christ.”

John 1:1-3

1. In the beginning was “Christ,” and “Christ” was with God, and “Christ” was God.

2.  The same (Christ) was in the beginning with God.

3. All things were made by him (Christ); and without him (Christ) was not any thing made that was made.

Then John clarifies who the “Word” really is:

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.

Who was made flesh and dwelt among us?

Who is the only begotten of the Father?

Who is the creator of all things?

The answer is Jesus Christ!  Jesus Christ was with God!

Genesis and the Plural “Us”

Since the “Word” is “Jesus Christ” then we also have two separate Gods – Christ was with God and Christ was God, and we have Christ being the creator of all things.

Remember in the creation?

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:…

Who is this “us”?

This “us” was God, our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ.

Illustration: The Planner and the Builder

To help understand and visualize the different rolls that God the Father and His son Jesus Christ played… let me liken their rolls to our normal everyday life.

Think of creation like a construction project:

  • One designs the plan

  • Another carries it out

In this analogy:

  • God the Father is the planner

  • Jesus Christ is the executor—the one through whom creation is performed

Christ creates not by physical labor, but by His word and power.
He commands—and creation obeys.

I liken this example to our Heavenly Father, who was the idea god with the plans.

Jesus Christ was the contractor, who actually created this earth. He did not get His hands dirty by forming this earth like with clay. It was the power of Christ. His power is His word.

As He commanded the elements, the water, the mountains, the plants, the animals, the fishes, the birds and etc, they all obeyed His word…and in the end…we have our beautiful earth with all living creatures living on it.

Interestingly enough…all elements and living things obeyed…except man/woman. We, as in the majority of the world’s population, do not obey the words of Christ!

Paul’s Teachings on Creation

Getting back to making the worlds, not only did John teach this concept to the Saints, Paul also understood the same concept when he taught the Hebrews:

Hebrews 1:1-2

1. God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Here we have a second apostle stating that through Christ, God made the worlds.  Not only did Paul teach this concept here, he also mentioned it again to the Hebrews, the Colossians, and to the Ephesians:

Hebrews 11:3

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

This is where we learn that Christ created the worlds through His word. I personally believe that He did not get His hands dirty. Now, another two New Testament creation teachings by the apostle Paul:

Colossians 1:16

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

These passages consistently point to Christ as:

✔ Creator of all things
✔ Agent through whom God made the worlds

“World Without End”

Ephesians 3:21

Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

It is very clear to me that Jesus Christ created this world and many others. It was through modern-day revelation to Joseph Smith that we learned this.

Prophets and Revealed Truth

Is this concept “world without end” one of the secrets that God talks about that He will reveal to His prophets?

Amos 3:7

Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

I would like to remind you of this teaching by Jesus Christ Himself. He teaches us:

Matthew 10: 41

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

With our modern day apostles and prophets, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints knows the meaning of these plural “Worlds” that Christ created.

The Bible clearly distinguishes that Jesus Christ made multiple worlds.

Does this answer the question: “Are we alone in this universe?”

Thanks to modern revelation…I know the answer to that question!
