Chapter 14d - The Mormon Temples - The Sacred Garments
Clothed or Cast Out? The Garment Warning
Will you be found wearing them when Christ returns?
Chapter 14c - Then Modern Day Temples - The Sacred Garments
A Warning
What if something you’ve been told is “not necessary”…
is actually something God has restored for the last days?
What if rejecting it…
means you are not prepared to meet Jesus Christ?
And what if, when He comes…
you are found without the proper garment?
Introduction
Welcome to the Mormon Mann YouTube channel.
I’m Kendall, the Mormon Mann.
In this series, Joseph Smith and the Bible, we are comparing LDS teachings directly with scripture.
Today’s topic:
👉 The Sacred Temple Garment – and a Warning
The Misunderstanding
Many Christians say:
“Christ fulfilled the Law of Moses… so temple practices, sacred clothing, and commandments like this are no longer needed.”
But the Bible does not end with fulfillment.
👉 It points forward to a restoration of all things.
The Restoration Prophesied
In Acts 3:21:
“Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”
And Jesus Himself says in Matthew 17:11:
“Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.”
👉 Restore all things.
Not remove them.
Not eliminate them.
Restore them.
The Temple in the Last Days
Now look at these prophecies:
Isaiah 2:2–3:
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains… and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord… and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.
👉 This is not ancient history.
This is the last days.
Temples would return.
People would go to them.
God would teach them there.
Many modern day prophets have stated that Isaiah’s prophecy, “that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains… and all nations shall flow unto it,” has already been fulfilled.
They have indicated that the LDS Salt Lake Temple fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy.
For over 100 years, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been coming from all around the world to enter into the Salt Lake City Temple and be taught in the Lord’s ways.
The Lord Returns to His Temple
Now listen to this powerful prophecy from Malachi:
In Malachi 3:1:
“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Here we have the Lord coming in the last days… to His temple.
👉 Not away from it.
👉 Not replacing it.
👉 Not abolishing it.
To His temple.
And notice this:
👉 He is called “the messenger of the covenant.”
That means:
Covenant worship still matters
Temple worship still matters
Preparation still matters
So now we have:
Isaiah prophesying a Temple in the last days
Malachi saying The Lord will return to His temple in the last days
Acts prophesying the “Restoration of All Things”
Christ stating in His own words…The Restoration must happen
👉 This is not a coincidence.
👉 This is a pattern.
If the Lord is coming to His temple…then His temple must be on the earth.
And if His temple is restored…then the sacred practices associated with it are restored as well.”
God’s Command for Sacred Garments
Now let’s go back to what God originally commanded.
In Exodus 28:2:
“And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.”
41 And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them… that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness…
43 And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons… when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die…”
👉 These were not optional.
👉 These were commanded by God.
Sacred garments were required to approach Him.
The Pattern Continues in Prophecy
Now listen carefully to Isaiah:
In Isaiah 61:10:
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord… for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness…”
Isaiah calls them:
👉 Garments of salvation
The New Testament Warning
Now let’s move into the New Testament.
In Revelation 16:15:
“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”
In Revelation 3:4–5:
“Thou hast a few names… which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment…”
Christ’s Own Teaching
Now listen to Jesus Christ Himself. This is at His coming and wedding to His Church here on earth…in the last day!
In Matthew 22:11–13:
“And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
Then said the king… Bind him hand and foot, and take him away… there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
👉 No garment…
👉 Cast out.
The Restoration Brings It Back
So let’s connect everything:
God commanded sacred garments
Prophets spoke of garments tied to salvation
Christ warned about being properly clothed
The apostles warned to keep your garments
And prophecy declares a restoration of all things
👉 So when Christ restored His gospel through Joseph Smith…
Would He leave these things out?
Or would He restore them?
Direct Warning
To those who mock… ridicule… or dismiss the sacred garment—
You are not just rejecting a piece of clothing.
👉 You may be rejecting something God has restored.
And the scriptures warn clearly:
“Blessed is he that… keepeth his garments.”
Final Challenge
To all Christians:
You say you are ready for Christ.
You say you are waiting for Him.
But when He comes…
👉 Will you be properly clothed?
Or will you stand there…
like the man without the wedding garment…
speechless?
Conclusion
This is not about tradition.
This is not about culture.
👉 This is about preparation.
👉 This is about obedience.
👉 This is about being ready to meet God.

If you liked what you heard, hit the like button.
If you disagree, hit dislike.
But either way—
Open your Bible.
Read these passages for yourself.
And ask:
👉 Am I truly prepared?
In the next chapter…
we’ll go deeper into temple worship—
and what it really means to enter the presence of God.
